Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam Garden Wedding

Last week our eldest son got married and today Saturday 20 Mar 2010, it was the bridegroom side to throw the reception. We had distributed 400 cards followed by emails, sms and phone calls invitation. It was held at Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA) Bukit Kiara. The event started at 7 pm and ended at 11pm. Guest started to trickle in at 7pm and the crowd build up at 8.30pm at the height of the event. There is also a prayer room available and those who came early took a break to perform their maghrib prayers..

The event was held at the lawn area close to the green. Six transparent canopy were erected. The weather was good and the moon shone brightly with Kuala Lumpur skyline in the backdrop. It was kind of a garden wedding and thus the reason to host it at night due to the cool weather. Alhamdulillah, the weather was kind to us that night. It was raining heavily the night before. Parking is plentiful.

Apart from the food supplied by the caterer, we also brought in our own set of dishes to complement the food. KGPA location is quite confusing since there is another golf course KL Golf & Country Club adjacent to KGPA. Some friends lost their way and went home instead.

The bride & groom arrived on a golf buggy. The kompang was played and the imam recite the selawat. The bride & groom walked to the dias. The doa was recited followed by the renjis by both parents of the brides.

About 1000 guest attended the wedding. Friend & colleagues from TM, HuaWei and our neighbours from Taman Setiawangsa attended. Old friends during the day of our stay in Kuching, Teluk Intan, Newcastle, New Jersey and Dhaka were also there. Friends as far as Kedah, Perak, Melaka & Jakarta also did not miss the occasion. Thank you everyone.

The wife had planned the event a year ago. Our 4 other children participate well. 3 of them perform some songs dedicated to the bride & groom
.
